Tom & Camille Wall Family's Fall 2008 Newsletter

It has been a busy summer with trips to Utah for Monte’s wedding, to Seattle to visit with Tom’s family in Portland and Klamath Falls and for Mike’s wedding, to the beach a couple of times, and camping/rock climbing a couple of times.

When the weather got too hot to go outside, we put our house-painting and back-yard landscaping projects on hold. (It was a good excuse to take a break from them, anyway.) Now that the temperatures are dropping (slightly) we are venturing out, armed with caulk guns and pressure washers (groan).

School is in session and Ashley loves Kindergarten! Her favorite subject is art. She’s also teaching us new songs. Top music hits are “Y-E-L-L-O-W spells yellow.” Running a close second is “B-L-U-E spells blue.” She’s started up dance class again, taking ballet/tap/tumbling. Her favorite thing about dance: the Hannah Montana dance leotard she got to pick out. It has a flashy gold belt.

Camille has survived a couple of days as a substitute teacher, a nice break from the tedium of correlating at the computer. It also has its challenges, such as running tornado drills, which Camille has never had the opportunity to experience while growing up on the west coast. Camille has also been spending a lot of time working with the children at church on their upcoming Sacrament meeting program debut. 10 songs learned, only 1 more to go. She has started singing with the Cobb Symphony Chorus again, so she now claims to have a hobby. Actually, two hobbies – since she’s been spending so much time on Facebook catching up with old friends, so that counts too.

Tom has become an experienced traveler through work and is racking up frequent flyer miles and Marriott rewards points. On an assignment to San Francisco, he had the chance in his free time to visit the area where he served his mission. This time no one slammed doors in his face, but rather welcomed him in for a visit! He even got to pet baby goats and stack hay bales on some friends’ goat farm. When he’s home (and not mowing the lawn or washing clothes/repacking for the next trip) he sneaks a trip down to the river for rock climbing or to the park for ultimate Frisbee.
